March 2-5 2006 - 21st Annual Calema Midwinter's
Windsurfing Festival Merritt Island Florida
Even landlubbers will enjoy this huge amateur windsurfing event,
one of the largest in the country. Hop on a pontoon boat(additional
fee) for close views of competitors or stay on the beach and watch
the surfers loop and spin during the competition. Free Admission.

Merritt Island Wildlife Asssociation - Guided Bird Tours
See the birds as you take a driving tour around Merritt Island
National Wildlife Refuge with a knowledgeable guide. MIWA Board
Members Jim Pedersen and Ned Steel will lead the tours. Come see
Florida’s #1 birding spot during the active migratory season. You
will see hundreds of birds of dozens of species, as well as active
bald eagle nests!
Trips will be on Wednesdays: February 15 & 22 March 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29.
Meet at the Refuge Visitors’ Center at 9 am. Suggested items to bring
include: binoculars, camera, field guides, water, and a snack.
Loaner binoculars are
available.
Reservations are required and space is limited. For reservations or questions,
